Engineered to match critical interfaces and minimise downtime
CHASE International supplies replacement F3 induction motors engineered as true drop in replacements where the application allows. The objective is to reduce risk, avoid unnecessary site modifications, and complete the change out efficiently.
F3 is a legacy series reference associated with heritage brands including GEC Alsthom and Alstom (now part of GE). This reference is used only to identify compatibility with installed equipment.

F3 drop in replacement motors
What we mean by “drop in”
A drop in replacement is engineered to suit the existing installation so that replacement can be completed with minimal disruption.
Typical focus areas include:
- Mounting and footprint
- Shaft and coupling arrangement
- Terminal box orientation and cable entry
- Instrumentation and accessories
- Cooling method and protection requirements
- Electrical performance aligned to the duty
If a true drop in cannot be achieved, we advise early and propose the cleanest alternative.
How we reduce replacement risk
Technical capture
- Nameplate confirmation and site photos
- Installed interface review
- Duty confirmation including starting method and thermal limits
Engineering and documentation
- Drawings for approval
- Technical data sheets and performance information where required
- Routine test results
- Installation and commissioning notes
Delivery support
- Clear document pack for approvals and handover
- Practical support to minimise downtime during the change out
Typical reference statement
Chase has supplied multiple HV and MV induction motor replacements, including repeat orders, into a large Asia based utility fleet.
Typically, units are 3.3, 6.6 or 11 kV machines in the 250 kW to 10 MW range.
Supply includes drawings for approval, technical data sheets and performance curves, routine test results, and installation manuals to support an efficient change out.
What we need from you to quote quickly:
- Nameplate photo and motor tag reference
- Basic duty details: kW, kV, poles, speed, starting method
- Photos of terminal box, mounting, coupling end and non drive end
- Any drawings or data sheets available
- Required delivery date and installation timing
Supported F3 frame sizes and configurations
Replacements are supplied independently of the OEM, giving operators more flexibility on lead time and cost.
Coverage is broader than the examples shown. If your frame or rating is not listed, send the nameplate and we will confirm compatibility.
