Upgraded Cylinders

Vertical grinding mill ram cylinder units perform a vital role in the operation of the pulverizer. They maintain a contact load and automatically compensate operational wear to ensure optimum performance. As the seals on the cylinder degrade the performance of the cylinder, and therefore the pulverizer, degrades making it less effective.

Why upgrade from Hydraulic Ram Cylinders to “Air Bag” type?

A hydraulic ram, no matter how good the sealing, and/or wiping thereof, will always be wet, means that any ingress of dust to the extended, exposed portion of the ram, can adhere to the ram, allowing the possibility of grit being transported back into the front oil seal, resulting in premature wear, and subsequent oil leakage.
